How Glass Cabochon and Cabochon Settings can make Your Day?

Do you have some fun idea to make a boring day cherished? If you don’t that which way to go then what about making a piece of jewelry like locket, bracelet, ring or earring etc.?  If you are not a skilled person at jewel crafting then you would be pleased to know that cabochon, cabochon settings and glue are enough to make your day. Let me explain how easy and pleasing activity it is.

Cabochons are of different types and my favorite are those made up of glass. Different paper images are attached opposite to the smoother surface of these glass stones to give them a different and attractive appearance instead of having a feel of a simple glass glued to cabochon settings.

You can purchase the finished glass stones with different impressions on them from the market but you can also buy the plane ones to add the image of your choice and it is also quite simple. Select an image either from a magazine, printed image, and decorative papers or even you can add your own photograph. Please, avoid the overtly glossy or thin paper because they will not give a desired impression to the glass. Now the next step is to apply a thin layer of sticking material to the rough surface of glass piece, gently hold it with your thumb and index finger (I personally believe it to be the best and feasible way of handling), place it gently upon the image and leave it undisturbed for a while. When you feel that it is considerably dry, gently press it to get rid of the extra glue and then cut the extra edges and glue with paper cutter or nail filer, without spoiling the edges of glass tile.

Ok, now the next phase is to fix the finished sphere it to the cabochon settings that is usually known as pendant tray. Procedure is not much different but be wary about the size and design of the tray and of stone that you want to set in. Once you are contented with the size of both, succeeding approach is of fixing.

Place a few drops of blameless quality glue on the surface of cabochon settings, where you have to fix the crystal. Then place the glass stone on sticky surface and gently press it until you feel that the adhesive material is too dry to move the crystal piece. Congratulations! You have successfully achieved your objective of jewelry making. Place it on a dry surface for a few hours. So, until the trinket gets ready let me share something worth knowing. Don’t shake the glue gun or bottle just before applying it on image for imprinting or when you put it on the cabochon settings. The reason behind this caution is to avoid air bubbling that might affect the strong fixation and may blur the image impression.

That is all to it. This simple project will leave you with simply gorgeous piece of art that you will wish to have with you for many years to come.
