The Mystery Behind European Beads

It all started when I heard from a friend, who also happens to be a fellow jewelry maker, about some beads that are called European Beads. I was surprised to hear this name because I didn’t know it before. So my explorer instincts kicked in and I started looking for it. I wanted to know how these beads work because I have always been an enthusiast when it came to finding new techniques and materials to work with. I started my search by asking for it in the online international shops that were located near my cousin’s house abroad. I also asked her to look for it because she used beads every now and then for her projects. 

When I couldn’t find anything, I became more desperate to know about then so I went local. I started by asking the shops that were present in my locality. Luckily I found the European Beads along with the explanation why I couldn’t find it before. These beads had two names that is why it was trouble getting a hold of it. Internationally, these beads are known as Pandora Beads. Whereas in Asian countries, European Beads is the name by which they are known. That was the reason why I couldn’t find it online. 

After finding out that Pandora Beads and European Beads is the same thing, I asked my cousin to stop her search and told her the story behind the mystery. 

When the mystery had been unveiled, it was now time to try it. For the first use, I bought them from a retail shop. A tip for all fellow crafters, whenever you buy something new, never go for buying it in bulk. Take time to read it, explore it, check it, use it and if you are satisfied with its work, then buy it. It might happen that you find the beads wonderful but that does not stay for long. This usually occurs when something doesn’t suit your style. This is also a reason for not buying things in bulk when you are still experimenting with it.

So where was I?  I remember, Yes I was talking about my evaluation of the European Beads. When I laid my first glimpse on it, I liked how it looked. They had vibrant and bright colors. I don’t know if I have mentioned it before, but one of the things that I notice about a bead is its colors. So these beads were truly gorgeous in this aspect. The next thing was design. Surprisingly, I find its designs very fascinating and very attractive. I could already picture in my mind the ways I can use it and the things I can make out of it. This gave extra points to European Beads from my behalf because I believe that a material that instigates and triggers your artistic nature is always of value. I did some more research and I found this type of beads is made in various materials and varies in price. 

On the whole my search of European Beads or to say Pandora Beads proved to be very helpful. It helped increasing my collection of beads and I am sure to use them in my piece. What started off as a mystery solving issue is not one of my favorite items to work with. So I would like to say to all my fellow crafters and jewelers, never hold back when you get a chance, and never stop exploring for new things. You might become better then best at your work. Being an artist can sometimes be tiring. Many artists work in one medium while some continue to experiment with various other mediums because sameness kills creativity and that is the death of an artist. Also, doing something out of your zone or comfort level is what makes work exciting and thrilling.
